Week 6 Rewind – Week 7 Outlook

Week 6 was crazy finally there was a McCoy sighting but Lacy went back to his struggles, Forte was amazing once again especially in PPR formats featured plenty in the passing game.  Cam looked like he over came his kryptonite and looked more like SuperCAM! but is he here to stay? Pretty impressive when analyst talk about Manning having an off day but still finishing with 3TDs.  Oh yeah and Brady back to silencing critics….

Like my last post everything I may write is in general terms for more specific advice tweet your questions to our team : @Fantasy4Rookies @FantasyJeanius @_fantasyreaList and please welcome our newest addition @WaiverWireWundR

Joe Flacco was outstanding throwing 5TDs and moving the ball at will against a very sub par Tampa Bay defense on the road.  Week 7 Flacco and the Ravens head back to Baltimore against an Atlanta Defense that seems to also be out of sorts which allowed Jay Cutler to finish inside the Top 10 in scoring in a very good week for QBs.  I am not suggesting Flacco will throw another 5 TDs, but another Top 10 performance is not out of the question very solid bye week replacement.

SuperCAM was back in action week 6 finishing as the top scorer at QB in standard formats.  Throwing 2Tds and rushing for over 100 yards leading the Panthers to a tie against a good defense on the road vs CIN.  Cam has left fantasy orders searching for answers the first 5 weeks of the season, but brought relief to the owners that have stuck by him in week 6.  Week 7 he will be matched up against a Green Bay defense who has improved as of late finishing in the Top10 in fantasy points last two weeks and being able to defend the pass reasonably well.  I do not expect Newton to repeat this type of performance this week but I project him somewhere in the 15pt range in standard formats.

Tom Brady was Tom Brady in the second straight week.  He has been a viable fantasy starter the past two weeks and I foresee this continuing week 7 vs the Jets.  The Patriots are at home and the Jets have just lost Dee Milner for the season only weakening a poor secondary.  The Jets front 7 is arguably one of the best and may be there only saving grace against a sub par O-Line for NE.  Forecast calls for rain which could hamper the passing game I don’t like playing players on Thursday nights, but if you dont have a better option you should roll with Brady in a favorable matchup.

Players I Like: Carson Palmer

Players to Watch: Derek Carr, Austin Davis, Brian Hoyer, Mike Glennon

Running Backs

There was a LeSean McCoy sighting Sunday night in Philly rushing for 150 yards, but did fail to get in the end zone this is a positive sign for owners that have been worrisome about the former rushing leaders recent production. PHI has a bye week 7  and return against the Cardinals I am not selling McCoy unless I get fair value I believe Shady is back.

Brandin Oliver is the real deal once again Oliver for the second straight week has been solid.  Just using the eye test you can see how hard this kid is running.  I expect the same results vs KC week 7 I am playing him if I have him and I am comfortable with it.  He will dominate the touches and you will see similar production out of him as San Diego will try to control the tempo.

Lamar Miller has been good this season and this trend should continue he has a decent matchup week 7 vs a defense who has allowed an AVG over 100yds per game to running backs.  Also, adding to Lamar Miller’s value Knowshon Moreno is no longer in the picture after being diagnosed with a torn ACL and placed on season ending IR.

Players I Like: Ronnie Hillman, Joique Bell, Justin Forsett

Players to Watch: Antone Smith, Theo Riddick, Bishop Sankey, Isiah Crowell

Wide Receivers:

Calvin Johnson not much to say here besides he is turning into one of the BUSTS of the year now reports have serviced about him not returning till week 10.  If these reports end up becoming reality increases Golden Tates value marginally and decreases Stafford’s value significantly.  Stafford has not been the same guy without his big target and that is worrisome.

AJ Green not as significant a concern as Calvin at the moment he has mentioned he may miss week 7 which will frustrate fantasy owners, but Sanu owners rejoice!  Hopefully he will be back week 8 ready to roll

Odell Beckham Jr / Reuben Randal with the Victor Cruz injury in week 6 it will increase the value of both these wide receivers the top guy at the moment will probably be Randal, but I love Beckham Jr’s upside and feel by years end he will be the Giants WR you will want on your roster.

Larry Fitzgerald / Michael Floyd seeing Palmer back under center in week 6 may have brought a lot of relief to Fitz and Floyd fantasy owners.  Fitz had the better day, but both players should have seen a significant spike in value with Palmer returning as the signal caller.  Week 8 ARI goes up against OAK if I have these guys and Palmer is behind center I am leaning towards starting them.

Players I Like: Andre Johnson, DJAX, Malcolm Floyd, Sanu, Torrey Smith, Reggie Wayne

Players to Watch: Andre Holmes, Brandon Lafell, Louis Murphy

Tight Ends:

Julius Thomas not much to say here besides that there is no signs of Thomas stopping his record pace start.  I am not trading this guy and he is hands down the best tight end this season.

Jace Amaro he came onto the scene in week 6 with 10rec 68yds and a score he was targeted often by Geno Smith.  In deeper leagues he may be a consideration for a bye week replacement in week 7.  NE has been good against the pass this season only allowing 6 receiving TDs to WRs and 1 to TEs, but he is definitely a player to watch going forward.

Players I Like: Jordan Cameron, Greg Olsen, Jordan Reed

Players to Watch: Clay Harbor, Scott Chandler
