Some of the adds seem to work out right away while others …well….um …not so much. I will also tell you to dump people who are doing nothing for you. Sometimes it is a name you would want to hold on to, but remember if they are doing nothing and you see the trend will continue that space on your bench is valuable. Dump em and fill the spot with someone that either has current value or will have future value.
Early QB Adds:
Carson Palmer – AZ – Every week that he has played he has been a good performer. I myself own him in 2 leagues and I am playing him. The guy is producing, needs to be owned in all leagues
Kyle Orton – Buf – Looking like a stud in Buffalo. I have owned him before when he led me to fantasy glory in Chicago. He is a must own.
Andy Dalton – Cin – If he is out there pick him up. Green will be back and he has a great cast of weapons.
Zach Mettenberger – Ten – He will be throwing (a lot). He is a rookie and will be up and down but the volume will be there for fantasy goodness.
Early RB Adds:
Bobby Rainey – TB – He will be doing no less than splitting the carries the rest of the way. He has been a better RB than Martin thus far.
Charles Sims – TB – Coming off of IR there is much speculation that this third round pick will be used to enhance the anemic running game of the Bucs.
Juwan Thompson – Den – If you want a touchdown dependent RB he is your guy.
PPR RB Adds:
Travaris Cadet – NO – Had a down week but is still the pass catching RB in NO.
Theo Riddick – Lions – If Bush is out Riddick is the guy in Detroit. I think he has the most upside of the three Detroit RBs.
Early WR Adds:
Martavious Bryant – Pit – The big WR Pitt needed is here. He has had 2 good weeks in a row and is definitely the second option in the Steelers passing attack.
Donte Moncrief – Ind – As long as Wayne is out Moncrief has value. He is currently the second option for Luck. He actually looks better than Wayne in the small slice of activity we have seen.
John Brown – AZ- Appears to have surpassed Floyd in Arizona. The heavy passing attack they have makes him worth a flyer if you have room on your bench.
Brandon LaFell – NE – The apple of Tom Brady’s eye lately. The chemistry is there, he is a big target with good hands. He is looking like the new number 1 WR in New England.
Early TE Adds:
Heath Miller – Pit – Servicable if you need him
Austin Seferian-Jenkins – TB – May have a decent second half of the year. I would plug and play through the bye weeks.
Tim Wright– NE- Completely TD dependent but if you need a TE for the bye weeks, he may suffice.
Early Def Team Adds:
Bengals – They get Jax week 9 need I say anything more.
Chiefs – Get the Jets week 9
Browns – Playing Tampa Bay
Dump that Bitch: The players that you have been wondering why you keep around as they never do anything for you. They just keep taking up space on you bench or starting lineup.
Brian Quick – STL – Injured done for the season, hadn’t done much the last few weeks either. I know it is obvious, but I had him here before I knew he was hurt and I didn’t feel like taking him off my list.
Wes Welker – DEN – He has been wearing the cloak of invisibility all year. You would think he wasn’t even playing. Drop him at will.
Chris Johnson – Jets – If you still own him and you are hoping he comes around you have something wrong with you.
You may want to slide Edelman to your bench as well, I would hold on dropping him but Brady is looking elsewhere lately.
