Wicked Good Waiver Adds for Week 1

Sometimes the people you will want to add are SUPER obvious and sometimes that aren’t.  I try to give you some players to add that fit in both categories, week 1 here I feel like Captain Obvious.  Some of these guys should have been on the radar for your draft.  I will also be calling out players for you to watch.  It’s like if you are at the beach with your buddies and one says “Yellow bikini”  You immediately start looking out of the corner of your eye, even though you might not want to go talk to her yet.  Just add those guys to your watch list and see what they do, before you try to take them home to meet your mother.

QB
Carson Palmer (AZ) – Everyone has been selling the “if” he can stay healthy story.   I say add him, if he gets hurt then drop him.  The guy had 19 completions for 307 yards and 3 TDs; and he rushed 3 times for 14 yards.  How the heck did this guy get 14 yards?   Palmer is an absolute steal off the waiver wire.  Should be owned in all leagues

Alex Smith (KC) – Everyone Hates Alex.  Let’s face it, he is probably the least sexy name out there if you need a QB.   He has weapons, and he has schemes to get the ball in his weapons hands.  Good bye Dwayne Bowe and Hello Maclin and Kelce.  Smith had 243 yards and 3 TDs with 22 completions.  We are looking at production here, good god give the guy a chance if you need him.  Should be owned in all leagues

Marcus Mariota (TEN) – He only had 13 complete passes for 209 yards.  Why would I add that guy?   He had 4 TDs.  I would at least put a watch on this guy to see if he can keep it up.  I think the Titans may be throwing from behind more the rest of the season.  Watch

WR
James Jones (GB) – Number 1 priority on the wire.  Only 4 catches but 2 TDs.  Good red zone chemistry with Rodgers.  Must be owned

Donte Moncrief (IND) – TY Hilton is out and Moncrief will pick up the number 1 WR duties here.  Great PPR pick up too.  He had 11 targets for 6 receptions, 46 yards and a TD, that was with Hilton in the lineup.  I would grab him

Terrence Williams (DAL)– Dez is out which makes Williams the guy in Dallas.  He had 8 Targets, 5 Receptions and 60 yeards.  Expect those to jump.

Tavon Austin (STL) – 4 rushes for 17 yards and a TD; 5 targets for 2 catches.  81 return yards and a TD.  They are trying to use him in every facet of the game.  If your league gives return yardage on individual players give this guy a shot.

Watch: Rashad Green (PPR) 13 targets, 7 receptions.  Percy Harvin – does he have new life?

RB
Bishop Sankey (TEN) – I cannot believe I a saying add him but 84 combines yards, 2 receptions and 2 TDs says they are using him well.  He is cheap and looks like he is involved.  Must own in all leagues

Deangelo Williams – plug and play for one week add while Bell is still out.

David and Chris Johnson (AZ) – How will this play out?   Arians says Chris is the guy, the production looks more like David would be better. If you need a Johnson short term grab Chris, if you need Johnson long term grab David.

Darren Sproles (PHI) – 126 combined yards, 7 receptions and 25 return yards, makes him look like an add to me.  Chip said he would get Sproles involved in the passing game and he has.  Definitely looking like PPR gold here folks.

Lance Dunbar (DAL) – This is a PPR special.  Dez is out and Dallas will throw.  Dunbar had 8 catches and 70 yards and I expect to see more of that.  Makes him a nice little add in PPR

Watch: Dion Lewis(NE); Karlos Williams (BUF); Marcel Reese (OAK)

TE

Heath Miller (PIT) 11 Targets for 8 receptions and 84 yards.  Damn, we are talking very involved at least while Bryant is suspended.  I would grab him if I were TE needy

Ladarius Green (SD) – Someone got targets while Gates is out.  I think we have been waiting for this guy to do something for a long time.  5 receptions for 74 yards and a TD.   Until Gates returns he will be a factor in San Diego.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins – A lot of this guy was during garbage time, and Evans didn’t play but it can’t be ignored.  5 receptions for 110 yards and 2 TDs.  I would grab him (I actually own him in one league already)

Jordan Reed (WASH) – If available.  He will be soaking up those Jackson targets like he did Sunday.  As long as he is walking he is capable of producing.  He does come with a warning label “WARNING: This player may break if used”   Ride him out if you are TE needy

Defense –
Baltimore is playing Oakland

Denver is playing KC but looked real good

DUMP THAT BITCH –  We will give people a second chance in week 2 before I scream at you for keeping them.  You know how how this section will go.  I will be like your best friend telling you to dump that chick, it doesn’t matter how hot she is, someone, somewhere is sick of her.
