NFL Fantasy Mailbag week 9

The Jaguars have a new Offensive Coordinator, does this make any of their players more valuable? (@33mizum)

That’s a tough call, as Nathaniel Hackett, once the QBs coach, is now the Offensive Coordinator. That is interesting, because the primary reason the Jaguars are struggling, is because of Blake Bortles. The Jaguars QB. So it would seem as if their new OC, has been apart of the problem already. Maybe this allows them to allocate a new QB coach to work with Bortles, but his problems won’t be fixed overnight. He has major mechanical, and mental issues right now. This according to anonymous teammates and observation.

Personally I don’t see the Jaguars offense improving much. I’m not convinced that this coaching change will really have an impact on their success, as nothing will change until Bortles does. But it still remains to be seen.

Is it safe to make Prescott my weekly starter? (@BradleyOliver7)

The Dallas Cowboys are more entertaining than ever, coming off a come from behind win against Philly, they are now 6-1. Due in large part to the calm and collected nature of Dak Prescott. He has made the plays when the game is on the line, and allowed the monster run game to do its thing. He also adds that extra element that fantasy owners love, the ability to tuck the ball and run.

Dak Prescott will get you points through the air, on the ground, and with a lack of mistakes. It also appears that he will remain the starter once Romo returns, based on a comment made by Jerry Jones on his radio show. Saying “Chemistry has to be recognized” when referring to the Romo or Prescott decision. This is good news all around, for Prescott owners.

Is James Starks a good play this week? (@TheGeneralBear)

Unknown-7.jpeg

The Packers backfield is decimated, Eddie Lacy is on IR, Starks has been out for multiple weeks, and even Montgomery is missing time. Good news has arisen though, with Coach McCarthy announcing Starks will practice today (Thursday). Although, he provided no hint as to if we will see Starks on the field this week.

If Starks were to play, he would potentially see a ton of action. If it does get reported that he will play, I like him as a flex and possible RB2.

Charcandrick West worth starting? (@Ilocainoe)

Unknown-8.jpeg

Jamaal Charles is on IR, Spencer Ware suffered a concussion, and that has opened a door for Charcandrick West. He will officially start in place of Ware, and he faces a very weak Jaguars defense.

West should be able to thrive against the Jaguars this week, as they allow 124.7 rushing yards per game, 27th in the league. Not only that, but West will need to supplement the new starting QB in KC, Nick Foles. West is an excellent start this week.

Mark Ingram still worth starting? (@b_mitchell_jr)

Unknown-9.jpeg

Mark Ingram continues to fumble, and he was benched for it on Sunday. Tim Hightower has benefitted greatly from this and took advantage of this opportunity very well. The Saints staff has said, Ingram and Hightower will split carries, and ride momentum.

This is bad for Ingram owners as he will see a steep decline in carries and most definitely is not the hot hand in the Saints backfield, stay away from Ingram if you have other options. Say, maybe Charcandrick West.
